Your state issued driver’s license in the United States won’t be recognized as a valid instrument for operating a vehicle in another country. That’s where an International Driving Permit (IDP) comes in.

Where do I take the driver’s test?
There is no special test required to obtain an IDP. You will need to be a legally licensed driver in the United States. Most foreign governments will allow you to legally operate a vehicle in their country.

Where to Next-Are you a validly licensed driver in the United States? If so, you can qualify for an international driving permit (IDP). The IDP is recognized by most governments as a valid permit to operate a car, motorcycle, or other types of vehicles.

There are only four things you need to do to obtain your international driver’s license:
1- Fill out the application for your IDP
2. Fill out our order form
3. Two (2) Passport-Type Photos (signed on back) – you can get these at any CVS or Walgreens
4. A clear copy of your valid state-issued driver’s license

Notice no driving test is required? You must be at least 18-years of age.
