Brazil is currently open for US citizens to travel to and is at a level 2 “exercise increased caution” travel advisory.  Brazil requires a travel visa, along with a valid US passport for US citizens to travel. It is important to note that if your passport is within 6 months of the expiration date, most countries will simply deny it.
