Traveling to Canada from the U.S.? Here’s What You Still Need

Even for U.S. citizens, travel to Canada isn’t as simple as it sounds. Here’s what to bring.

Heading to Canada might feel like visiting your friendly upstairs neighbor, but you’ll still need the right documents.

Passport or Passport Card – Either works by land or sea. Only the passport book works for air travel.
No visa? No problem – U.S. citizens don’t need one for short stays.
Proof of funds and itinerary – Not always required, but helpful if questioned.
Kids? Bring extra documents – Especially if traveling with only one parent.

Even if you’ve crossed the border before, rules can shift. It’s best to check before every trip, and renew that passport if it’s close to expiring.

Need help with that? Call Texas Tower at 713-874-1420.
