When Will We be Able to Travel Internationally Again?
Some people are wondering when they will be able to travel internationally again. The U.S. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin announced on Monday that it is currently “too hard to tell at this point.” Mnuchin asks that Americans focus solely on domestic travel for the remainder of 2020 due to the notion that international travel until the end of the year remains in an unknown status.
Mnuchin also added, “Obviously, for business people that do need to travel, there will be travel on a limited basis.” Because of numerous international travel restrictions, warnings and small numbers of flights from many airlines, the outlook does not appear positive.
In late March of this year, the U.S. State Department made an issue of its highest level of alert for international travel. This encouraged Americans to completely avoid all international travel. This advisory still remains in effect.
“The president’s also looking about ways to stimulate travel. We want people to travel safely, to be able to visit places safely,” Mnuchin said. “So as the economy opens up, I think you’ll see demand coming back. Our priority is opening the domestic economy.”
“This is a great time for people to explore America. A lot of people haven’t seen many parts of America,” Mnuchin also added.
The pandemic begun to grapple the airline industry due to stay-at-home orders being enforced in late March.
