Why You Should Check Your Passport’s Expiration Date Before Every Trip

Your passport might still be valid, but not for long enough. Here’s why you should always check the expiration date before traveling.

That passport in your drawer might look good to go, but looks can be deceiving. Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date. If it’s not, you could be denied boarding or entry.

Some countries are stricter than others. For example, Indonesia, Kenya, and China enforce the 6-month rule. Even if the U.S. lets you fly, your destination might not let you in.

Don’t get caught at the gate. Always check your expiration date before you book, and again a few weeks before you leave. Renewing in a panic is never fun.

Need your renewal fast? Call Texas Tower at 713-874-1420 for expedited passport services.
