It might seem smart to laminate your passport ID page or vaccine card—but don’t do it.
Laminated documents can be rejected by customs and visa officials because they:
- Obscure authenticity features like watermarks or raised seals
- Prevent machine scanning
- Are considered altered documents in some countries
Instead, store your original documents in a clear plastic sleeve or travel wallet. Make copies (digital and paper) in case of loss.
