A new app help speed travelers through Sea-Tac

In an effort to speed travelers that want to get through customs quicker has the opportunity to try a new app, operational for Sea-Tac airport. This app lets travelers give passport details and  declaration form  to U.S. Customs and Border Protection before they arrival. Considering Sea Tac can sometimes have very lengthy lines this helps travelers navigate the airport’s International Arrivals faster.

Mobile Passport Control is the apps name and is available to be used by U.S. and Canadian citizens. Another key point to the app is that it is free from Google Play or Apple’s app store.

Sea-Tac Airport is notorious for being swamped with international travelers,  with endured waits of  hours at passport control. Officials said international long-haul traffic at Sea-Tac has short up to about 80 percent since 2009, and all international passenger traffic is way up over 45 percent for that period.

The Mobile Passport Control app is easy to use:

•Download the Mobile Passport Control App from your choice of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store before arriving.

•Using your passport information Create a profile

•Fill in the “New Trip” section as you arrive in the United States

•Enter your customs declaration form via the app and get an electronic receipt which has an Encrypted Quick Response (QR) code.

•Submit your passport and smartphone or tablet with your digital bar-coded receipt to a CBP officer.

The Mobile Passport Control app  is already being utilized by two other airports, Miami International Airport and at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.  Customs and Border Protection hopes to expand usage of the Moblie Passport app to more U.S. airports by spring, with an ultimate goal of 20 airports with high-volume international travel using it by the end of 2016.
