Renewing your U.S. passport doesn’t have to be complicated. Here’s a step-by-step guide to make the process easy:

Step 1: Make Sure You’re Eligible

You can renew your passport if:

  • Your most recent passport is undamaged.

  • You were 16 years old or older when it was issued.

  • It was issued within the last 15 years.
If not, you’ll need to apply for a new passport instead.

Step 2: Gather All Required Documents

You’ll need to submit the following:

  • Completed and signed application for passport renewal
→ Complete this online through the Department of State’s passport portal.

  • Two passport-type photos
→ Recommended to have these taken professionally at places like CVS or Walgreens.

  • Authorization for Texas Tower to act on your behalf
→ Download and complete the Authorization Letters.

  • Your current passport
→ (Note: your passport number will change, but your cancelled passport will be returned to you.)

  • Flight itinerary or company letter requesting rush service
→ (If you need expedited processing.)

  • Texas Tower Passport & Visa Order Form
→ Complete the Texas Tower Order Form.

Step 3: Important Details

  • All documents must be physically signed and mailed.
→ No scanned or emailed copies are accepted — the Department of State requires original signatures.
