Ireland’s Ancient National Treasure
Ireland is home to the world’s oldest intact book, the Book of Kells, which was created by monks around the year 800 AD. This illuminated manuscript contains the four gospels of the New Testament and is decorated with intricate illustrations and calligraphy. It is housed in the Library of Trinity College Dublin and is considered one of Ireland’s greatest national treasures.
