How to Get Your Immigration or Passport Photos

Contrary to what gets said on the Internet, you can take your own photos for your passport or immigration application. However, there are strict guidelines for approval.

If you need the requirements, you can get them at the U.S. Department of State’s official site. We are also able to take your passport photos or immigration for you if you call and schedule an appointment. If you take a selfie, it will almost always get rejected because they are often the incorrect size and have the wrong head position for passport photos. A fast overview includes:

Photo Basics
  1. Submit a color photo, taken in last 6 months
  2. Use a clear image of your face. Do not use filters commonly used on social media.
  3. Have someone else take your photo. No selfies.
  4. Take off your eyeglasses for your photo.
  5. Use a plain white or off-white background.
When you come to our office to get your photos done, we observe all current COVID-19 protocols to ensure your safety during the process.

If you want to schedule an appointment to get photographed for your passport or immigration documentation, call Texas Tower at 713-874-1420 to schedule an appointment.
