What is Ethiopia’s Travel Status?
Ethiopia is currently at a level 4 “do not travel” advisory, but still permits U.S. citizens to enter. Ethiopia requires a travel visa and a valid US passport for travel. BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS FOR ETHIOPIA VISAS:
Careful: business visas are only valid for 10, 15 or 30 days from the date of issue depending on the length of authorization you receive from your host.
One completed Ethiopia visa application
One passport type photo
Physical passport with 6 months validity beyond trip completion and one blank visa page
Non-USA passport holders must provide a copy of green card or US Visa and I-94
One copy of flight itinerary

Pre-Approval Authorization from the Ethiopia Foreign Ministry

Your Ethiopian host must now submit a pre-approval authorization request on your behalf. When the authorization is issued your host must send a copy to both the Ethiopian embassy in Washington DC and to you to submit with your passport and supporting documents.
When requesting an authorization you should forward a copy of your passport information page to your host so the Ethiopian host has your passport information to enter into the authorization request
